Surrounded by neighboring residential and Los Angeles River to the east, this campus draws upon nature and meandering river as a source of inspiration to planning and design.

Innovative design and configuration of the academic, administrative, gymnasium and multipurpose buildings bend to frame the central courtyard while simulating the flow of nearby river. Result is an enclosed safe zone for students with individual academic library encouraging indoor-outdoor learning environment.

Various elements of dynamic nature of the river is reflected on the lunch shelter undulating canopy, the multipurpose and gymnasium undulating cmu walls, and folding rooftop photovoltaic panels. Sustainable elements of solar control sunshades, concrete mixed fly ash, and shaded trees of open space to enjoy local climate.
